Sheen Levels
SHEEN LEVELS
Tailor the beauty of your piece by choosing a custom sheen level.
Tailor the beauty of your custom piece by choosing a sheen level. Sheen - the amount of light reflected by a stained or painted surface - can be adjusted to your preference so the finish of your creation looks glossier or more matte.
You can specify one of five sheen options on any standard
stain
,
paint
,
premium leaf
or
Make it Yours paint
.
The direction and intensity of the light in the room will influence how sheen affects the appearance of a finish. Sheen also impacts the color perception of the finish; for example, dark glossy finishes can appear darker than the same finish in a matte sheen while light glossy finishes may appear brighter and crisper.
We have selected a standard sheen for each finish that showcases its beauty, and an upcharge applies for custom sheen options.
FLAT
(2 sheen)
None to very little reflection. The least reflective sheen level provides a soft velvety finish for a smooth and natural look. Best option when the look of natural wood is paramount.
MATTE
(10 sheen)
Low to medium reflection. A more subtle and muted shine, creating a silky-smooth surface while capturing all the rich colors wood has to offer.
SATIN GLOSS
(40 sheen)
Medium to moderate reflection. A smooth, slightly reflective, luxurious finish that creates a rich and radiant appearance, without a mirror-like effect.
SEMI GLOSS
(60 sheen)
Luminous reflection. A medium luster finish with a smooth sheen that adds depth and a sleek appearance.
HIGH GLOSS
(90 sheen)
High reflection. A super lustrous finish with added depth and brilliance that is shiny and crisp with a mirror-like effect.
